Sheffield Scorcher for Team Green!

The penultimate round of the Arenacross Tour took place in the mighty Sheffield Arena on Saturday night, and it was another strong event for Team Green with success across the board. Despite the freezing temperatures outside, the action was red hot on track!

In the 65cc class, Ben Mustoe continued to impress in his debut Arenacross Series, finishing joint 1st on the night after a couple of great races. Ben has really shone in this series, and now not only cements his second place in the title standings, but has also secured himself a place in the Team Green programme for the outdoor season.

Bobby Bruce has taken unbelievably well to the KX85 machine, and has shown week in, week out that he can put himself at the front of the pack. He certainly didn't disappoint in Sheffield as he stormed to his first overall win, and like Ben sits firmly in Second place in the standings.

Weeks of pre-season training in both Europe and the States has done Dylan Woodcock no harm, as he was the fastest rider by a margin on Saturday night in the Pro Lites class. An uncharacteristic mistake saw him drop out of the lead in race 1, but a clear holsehot to race win in the second secured him 2nd overall on the night, and a small 10 point gap to the Championship leader ahead of the final round.

The ultra-competitive Pro class once again provided great entertainment for the sell-out crowd, and yet again, Jack Brunell and Hugo Basaula transferred to the Main Event. Solid rides from both ended with Jack in 4th position and Hugo in 7th, ensuring Jack remains in the top 5 of the Championship standings and only a mere 9 points away from 2nd. With double points being awarded at the final round, all is still to play for.

Senior Racing Co-ordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK, Ross Burridge, was upbeat saying:

“I am so proud of the lads achievements, not just this weekend but in the whole Series. Each and every class is so competitive, and the racing has been fierce! To be running at the very sharp end every weekend in the Youth classes is great to see, especially considering it's Ben and Bobby's first time racing indoors. The Pro class is stacked full of talent, and just getting to the Main Event each week is hard, yet Hugo and Jack have done just that, so I've just got my fingers crossed that we finish off the Tour in style at Wembley.”

The final round of the Arenacross Tour takes place this weekend at Wembley Arena.
