Triple crown for Haslam at Silverstone!

It was a weekend to remember for Leon Haslam and the JG Speedfit Kawasaki team as the final round before the Showdown was owned by the Derbyshire rider. Run on the National circuit after a disastrous weekend previously for the MotoGP paddock, no one really knew what to expect from the new surface, and unusual track layout…

The weekend didn't start well for Leon with an enormous  highside in FP1 left him battered and bruised and the team a huge task of completely rebuilding his bike. However, determined as always, Haslam pushed on and managed to clinch the first race win on Saturday in dramatic style. Sunday came and it was more of the same for the “Pocket Rocket” racing to a further two wins and securing the treble! A truly commendable feat, and one that puts him 45 points in the lead heading into the last three rounds.

The Supersport class proved yet again that it gives the fans some of the closest racing with Gearlink Kawasaki rider, Ben Currie once again battling hard with rival Jack Kennedy for top honours. Currie rode his heart out on Sunday to claim another race win, his Sixth of the season and move to within 31 points of the series leader. With 6 races left, all is still to play for!

In the Junior Supersport class, the amazing Ninja 400 again showed it's class in the hands of Team 109 Kawasaki rider, Eunan McGlinchey with a double race win putting him 31 points clear of fellow Kawasaki rider Kade Verwey with just two rounds remaining.

The series now enters the Showdown stage as we move to Oulton Park this coming weekend. We hope to see you there!
