Moor victory!
Team Green's incredible form continued at the weekend at the second
round of the Pirelli British Masters motocross championship at Dean
Moor.
Lewis Hall romped to all four race wins in the small wheeled class,
while his younger teammate Joel Rizzi backed him up with a solid third place
overall, making it another double podium. Both Dylan Woodcock and Jed Etchells
had a weekend off as they are committed to the Michelin MX Nationals
championship. Hall was on fire, continuing his form from the Thor British Youth
Nationals the previous week and even posting laps times quicker than some
established MXY2 riders racing 250 four strokes. Joel also rode great after
coming to terms with the track, which he didn't particularly like on his first
visit to the venue.
Jeff Perrett - Team Manager
"It's been another good weekend for the team. I wasn't with the lads
this weekend because I was away at the Dutch GP with Dylan looking at the his
and the team's possible future. It was good to get the texts through to hear how
well the lads were riding again. Lewis is on a roll at the moment and he's very
confident, as his results and lap times show. Another podium for Joel is also
fantastic. It was also his first time to Dean Moor and he didn't bond with the
track as well as Lewis but like the previous week he's head strong and worked
hard to improve, which he did throughout the weekend. At the moment all four
riders are fit, healthy and riding fast, so we're a lll looking forward to
Cusses Gorse in two weeks time for the second Thor British Youth
Nationals.”
Lewis Hall #9 - Small Wheeled KX85
"It's all going good at the moment. I just feel really good and strong
on the bike. I came here knowing I could win again and now my starts are getting
better I feel more confident than ever before. I'm just looking forward to the
next race because everything is going really good.”
Joel Rizzi #912 - Small Wheeled KX85
"I've never raced this track before and I struggled with it on Saturday.
I didn't feel confident that I could push to go fast but by Sunday I was
starting to get used to it more and felt like I could push a bit more. It was
good to race a track like this though because I learned a lot. My starts weren't
quite as good as they usually are so I want to put that right for the next race
at the British Youth Nationals. I want to try and make up for that one bad race
last time out and get some points back.”
