Podiums aplenty for Team Green Kawasaki in Belfast


Team Green Kawasaki took a trip to the SSE Arena in Belfast for rounds four and five of the Arenacross Championship. It was a fantastic weekend for Team Green Kawasaki…

Round four

On Friday night, Jack Brunell and Hugo Basaula put in solid performances on their KX450F machines in the Pro AX class. Hugo was second in the practice session and then came 5th and 4th in the qualifying sessions, in the main event, he finished in 8th place. Jack finished 5th in practice and improved his performance and finished top of the time sheets in the qualifying sessions. In the main event, Jack finished in 6th place.

Dylan Woodcock put in a brilliant performance in the Pro Lites class. He was 2nd in the practice session and finished 5th in race one and 1st in the final, giving him 2nd place overall.

In the Supermini class, Bobby Bruce finished 3rd in practice on his KX85, 2nd in qualifying and remained consistent by finishing 2nd in race one and two, giving him 2nd place overall.

Ben Mustoe was 2nd in the 65cc practice, 3rd in qualifying and 4th in race one and the final, meaning he finished the night 4th overall.

 

Round five

On the Saturday, the SSE Arena was again packed to the rafters to see the Arenacross action. In the Pro AX class, Jack Brunell powered through practice to top the time sheets and maintained his form throughout qualifying. He raced to win the Hot Lap too – giving him an extra three points towards his championship. In the main event, he finished in 6th place. Jack is 5th in the Pro AX Championship standings. Hugo also put in a consistent performance, finishing 3rd in practice and 4th in both qualifying sessions. He was 5th in the Hot Lap heat and finished 7th in the main event, he's inside the top-ten in the championship standings in 9th place.

Following his second place overall finish the night before, Dylan raced to 4th place in practice and finished in 5th place in race one and 1st place in the final, giving him 1st place overall. Two podiums in one weekend for the Essex-born rider.  He's in 3rd place in the Championship standings.

Bobby Bruce bagged his first race win of his Arenacross career – and his first win for Team Green Kawasaki. He was 2nd in practice and finished 1st in race 1 and 2nd in the final. Giving him 2nd overall in the Supermini class and 2nd in the Championship table.

In the 65cc class, Ben Mustoe also put in a podium performance. He finished 2nd in practice session, qualifying and race 1 and then 3rd in the final. Giving him 2nd place overall. The young rider is currently 2nd in the Championship.

Senior Racing Co-ordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK, Ross Burridge, said: “It's great to see the team progressing and I was extremely happy to see Bobby get his first win – not just in Arenacross but his first win as part of Team Green. It's clear that everyone's hard work is paying off – for example, Dylan's training with Bryan Mackenzie in Scotland. Roll on Sheffield on the 11 February!”

 There might be a one week break in the AX Championship, but keep an eye out for the first episode of Team Green TV which focuses on the Arenacross Championship which will be out on Tuesday 1 February.

The team now move to round 6 which take place in Sheffield on Saturday 11 February.
