Bruce continues the podium streak

Bobby Bruce was flying solo as Team Green youth MX's sole championship racer this past weekend at the second round of the Thor British Youth Nationals at Brampton, Cumbria….and he flew quite well, taking second overall and moving up to second in the championship.

Good starts and consistent riding saw Bobby register a 2-2-3-3-3 scorecard to put his KX85 on the podium yet again. The sandy Brampton circuit was tough and with some heavy downpours thrown in the mix it was another solid performance for Bobby as his confidence grows week in, week out on his first year with Team Green.

Jeff Perrett - Team Manager

“I'm pleased with how Bobby has settled in so quickly with the team and his environment. His attitude is great and he wants to work hard and getting better and we're only just starting out in the grand scheme of things. He's only 12 but he's more mature than his age in his application to racing. There's so much more to come from him and from us regarding what we can do to help him, both with equipment and his training. It's his first year in the class and he's one of the youngest and has already won races this year, and I'm confident he'll win more. The season is long and we all know that. He didn't do much motocross season preparation because we were racing Arenacross so I know there's more in the tank. He'll be spending a lot of the summer training with Lewis (Hall) and myself and that will be bring him on even more. Lewis likes to push his teammates on so they'll be working hard! What I'm liking most about Bobby is his level of consistency, that's a really good base to work from.”

Bobby Bruce - KX85

“I enjoyed this weekend. Brampton is pretty knarly. I got some good starts and tried to ride hard, but not too hard and make stupid mistakes. I feel like I'm getting better and better each week and I know the bike will get better as well. My next race is at Lyng for the MX Nationals and I'm looking forward to that. I've never ridden there either and it looks sick. We've also got a team video to shoot before then on a beach somewhere, so that's going to be cool!”
