Cookstown 100 success for Kawasaki

The first major road race of the season took place this past weekend with a number of riders achieving success on Kawasaki machinery at the Cookstown 100. Mixed weather created tricky riding conditions for the experienced field, but McAdoo Racing Kawasaki and KMR Kawasaki rose to the top in a number of races.

Highlight of the day for the McAdoo team was their rider Adam McLean fighting hard in the Supersport race to eventually take the win on his Ninja ZX-6R in tough conditions. Also competing in the Supertwin class, McLean battled hard to eventually cross the line in second, just behind race winner, KMR Kawasaki rider, Derek McGee – a brilliant Kawasaki 1-2 on Ninja 650 machines.

The final event of the day was the Cookstown 100 Superbike race. This gives the guys a chance to stretch their legs on 1000cc machines around the undulating and narrow circuit, a feat that has to be witnessed to be believed! After a close battle, the race finished with another Kawasaki double podium, McGee taking the win and McLean third on his McAdoo Racing Ninja ZX-10RR.

We now turn our attention to the first of the International Road Races for 2019, the Northwest 200, which takes place in two weeks time.
